Believe it or not, this verse was inspired by the roots of a tree that I spied while walking in a wooded park.  The roots reminded me of monster toes.  But I liked the word "demon" better.  Many people think this could refer to their partner or their cat but I intended it to mean your inner demons.  I'm happy for people to interpret what I create as they like.  :)
